Rambo, a Vietnam veteran, knocks on a door to find Delmar Barry. He learns his friend died of Agent Orange exposure, and walks on with nowhere left to go.

Welcome to Hope (1981)

Sheriff Teasle spots the drifter and drives him across town, telling him he is not welcome. Rambo has done nothing wrong and is only looking for a meal.

Arrest and the sheriff's office (1981)

Rambo walks back toward town and Teasle arrests him. In the station deputies led by Art Galt abuse him, and the treatment triggers flashbacks to the torture he suffered in Vietnam.

The motorcycle getaway (1981)

Rambo overpowers the deputies and takes back his knife. He steals a civilian's motorcycle and the police chase him out of town.

The mountain manhunt (1981)

Teasle organizes a search with deputies, dogs and a helicopter. Galt ignores orders and shoots from the air, while Rambo uses the woods to set traps and turn the hunt around.

The gorge and the helicopter (1981)

Rambo is trapped above a gorge. Galt tries to shoot him from a low-flying helicopter, and Rambo's rock throw makes the pilot lose control.

Set in Chapman Gorge — The gorge where Rambo is cornered and the chase turns dangerous.

In the film it is called Chapman Gorge; it was shot at Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park near Hope.

The abandoned mine (1981)

Rambo retreats into an abandoned mine. National Guard units fire on it to force a surrender, and Colonel Trautman arrives to argue with Teasle.

The gas station explosion (1981)

Rambo hijacks a military truck and drives back to Hope, determined to confront Teasle. He wrecks the truck at a gas station in an explosion.

Blackout and the gun store (1981)

Rambo shoots down power lines and darkens most of the town, then sets off explosives in a gun store and goes after Teasle at the police station.
