A Dutch Boy satellite over Hong Kong sends temperatures soaring, causing fire whirls and collapsing buildings. The scientist Chen Long survives and calls Max to say his access to the satellite has been blocked.

A tsunami rolls into Dubai

A giant wave sweeps through Dubai's skyline and washes over its skyscrapers as the weather machine runs out of control. The scene is among the film's best-known disaster images.

Jake arrives at the climate space station

Jake reaches the International Climate Space Station and finds the damaged satellites' data erased. With the commander Ute Fassbinder and her crew he recovers a dead engineer's hard drive and hides it, suspecting a traitor aboard.

Cheng is chased through Washington

Cheng flees to Washington, D.C. to warn Max, pursued by rogue agents. He is killed in a staged traffic incident, and with his last breath he tells Max one word: Zeus.

After hail hits Tokyo and a cold snap strikes Rio de Janeiro, Max uses the Project Zeus files to learn that Orlando, site of the Democratic convention, is next. He turns to Dekkom for help and is betrayed.
